Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting www.fortydaysofpraise.com This was a project that was started two years ago as a part of my lenten sacrifice. I have been overwhelmed by the response of this endeavor, as the site has had over 50,000 unique visits in the past two years.
Since this project’s inception, I have recorded an EP, “Consume My Heart”; moved across the country to work as a full-time youth music minister in St. Louis; and spoken in front of 1,000 teens at the Life Really Matters conference in Washington, D.C. I currently am able to share my gifts on a local and national level several times a week. If you would like more information about where you can see me play live, click on “michael james” at the top and add your name to my mailing list. I periodically send out free .mp3s to the mailing list.
I am currently working on another studio album, due out sometime in 2009. I have also been actively writing and recording response psalms for the Catholic Liturgy. Please visit www.modernpsalter.com for more information on that project. Thanks for you interest and may God bless your work!
I am excited to see what God has in store for 2009!

A song embodying Jesus’ challenge to the disciples at the last supper.
Good day, all. Just wanted to give you a few updates on some pretty major stuff that’s been going on in my life.
First off, I am now a full-time music minister for South Side Youth Ministry in St. Louis, MO. God is so good. This is pretty much my dream job - I get to support my family by playing music for the Lord.
Second: Mainly because of this job / move, I was unable to post any more videos for lent this year. Now that we’re getting settled again, I can continue to post the re-runs. However, God is not done with this site. Expect great things in the future.
Third: If you are in the St. Louis area, stop by St. Mary Magdelen Parish (on Bancroft Ave off of Kingshighway) any day in lent from 3 to 4 for a holy hour with music provided by yours truly.
Lastly: If you haven’t already, you can pick up my first CD “Consume my Heart” off of iTunes. It’s a 5 song EP. It helps me to continue to do what God has called me to.

This song connects Jesus’ coming proclaimed by Isaiah and John the Baptist, with his coming at the Eucharistic table, and his second coming at the end of time.
